“Not everyone who reads is successful, but nearly everyone who is successful reads.”

A lot.

Below are some of the books that made a massive difference in my life and career — I would be doing you a disservice by not recommending them.

If you’re looking for a list of recommended sheet music, (études, sheet music, pedagogy, etc.) check out my Must Have Printed Music Page.  Happy music-making!

The newest addition to this list…..

“Get More Fans” by Jesse Cannon and Todd Thomas

Get More Fans
“‘Get More Fans’ by Jesse Cannon and Todd Thomas is a must read for anyone that wants to make it in the music industry.”

“The Art of Learning: An Inner Journey to Optimal Performance” by Joshua Waitzkin

This book is one of THE BEST how-to performance books out there.  Wether you’re a performer, teacher, student, or all three — READ IT.  (you’ll thank me later)

Another must-read is Eugen Herrigil’s Zen in the Art of Archery.   The author’s journey through the Zen art of archery has profound similarities to brass playing.  Your approach to playing will never be the same after reading this book!
